PAUL’S NEAPOLIS/PHILIPPI
Most of the day travelling east to visit:
Neapolis -
Visit the Pauline port where Paul landed
from Troas responding to the
‘Macedonian Call’ - his first visit to
European soil.
Philippi -
To the large archaeological site and
ancient city which controlled the
great ‘royal route’ which runs east-west
across Macedonia reconstructed in the
2nd century BC by the Romans as part
of the Via Egnatia.
Then to the nearby river where Lydia
was baptised.
Apollonia -
West for a short stop- it was perhaps
the most important of the several
classical towns of the same name
and located on the Via Egnatia. PHILIPPI JAIL
It minted its own coins in the 5th century BC.
Paul and his companions passed through
the city on the way to Thessalonika. APOLLONIA
Dinner & Overnight in Thessalonika.
