Day 4/- Saturday 19th Oct.
ATHENS/LEISURE CAPE SUNION
THE MORNING:
An orientation of Athens’s city landmarks.
Then a scenic drive along the beautiful coastal
route of Cape Sounion peninsula to stop at the
archaeological site on the southern tip overlooking
the Sea.
THE AFTERNOON:
FREE for leisure to go-as-you-please.
Dinner & Overnight in Athens
Day 5/- Sunday 20th Oct.
PAUL’S MACEDONIA/THESSALONIKA
Morning flight to Thessalonika (1 hour) - ANO POLI
then private coach transfer to the city and visit:
Ano Poli observation point -
High above the city which gives a fine panorama
of the city and the Aegean sea.
Then to the Church of St. Paul (AGHIOS PAVLOS)
The church dates from the 10th century to
commemorate Paul’s visit to the city. It was built
with stones of the beach itself, and its walls are
decorated with impressive
Frescoes dating from the 13th century. WHITE TOWER
Arch of Galerius -
The Arch and Rotunda are a major city landmark
and are one of the earliest Christian monuments in
the Eastern Roman Empire.
Roman Theatre -
The forum complex also boasts two Roman baths
and a small theater which was also used for
gladiatorial games.
White Tower -
A seaside location and adopted as the symbol of GALERIUS ARCH
the city.
Yad Lezicaron Synagogue -
dedicated to the memory of the victims of the
Holocaust. It was built on the site of the
small “Bourla” prayer house, and near to the
Jewish Museum.
